486 (aka the486kid), is an American born, West-Coast based producer, DJ and graduate audio engineer. 486 has been at it for well over a decade now. He has been booked in a wide array of events over the years, sharing stages with such names as, DJ Assassin, Filastine, Venetian Snares, Dan Deacon, RATATAT, Kid 606, Dunklebunt and more. He has toured nationally with several notorious Soundsystems of the 'Free Tekno' movement, and labels himself a Tek-nomad.
His sound has been recently described by Generation Bass as wobbly, high quality, lo-bit bump. A pioneer of the 'Chipstep' movement, 486 drops fluid yet articulate tracks powered by his 4bit microchip arsenal. Despite his preference for lo-tech microchip Atari retro, his productions are polished with cutting edge futuristic style. 486 has released four independent albums as well as a Digital EP on European label Bleepstreet Records. In 2011 he launched teknomadiX/ a label dedicated to pressing new cutting edge 'microchip' music to vinyl in limited release packages. Additionally 486 has freely released dozens of tracks online via various web outlets, clocking over one million downloads since starting to count in 2001.
486 Sound System is the newest incantation. A 4bit bass blast soundsystem style performance, collaborating world-wide on stage and in studios with similar and not so similar artists. 486's stage presence is powerful, commanding audiences to break it down before bouncing and sweating in a marvelous unison.

Steps for booking:

- 2. Wait for a reply email from us. ( > 24hrs standard )
